Scope a freelance project before you quote

A free, text-based mini-course from WorkCue: know who signs off, what's included and what isn't before you put a number on a proposal.

5 short text lessons. Free, no card. You'll get a login by email from Systeme.io, the platform that hosts the course. Unsubscribe any time.

What you'll learn

  • The one rule that turns every gap in a project into a question, an assumption or an exclusion

  • The people, outcome and deliverable checks to run before you price

  • The input, timeline and money checks that stop a fixed price from turning into unpaid work

  • A copy-ready AI prompt that turns discovery call notes into a one-page scope brief, without inventing anything

  • How to write an Assumptions and a Not included list, and where they go in a one-page proposal

Who it's for

Freelancers and solo consultants who send proposals or quotes: designers, developers, writers, marketers and consultants who sell scoped projects or packages.

Who it's not for

Agencies that need team approval workflows and e-signature tracking.

FAQ

Is it really free? Yes. The course costs $0 and asks for no card.

Do I need ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini? No. Only lesson 4 uses an AI prompt, and it's optional. The checks work on paper.

Is there a paid upsell? At the end we mention two WorkCue resources: the free 40-Point Freelance Scope Checklist (a 2-page PDF by email) and the $9 Freelancer Proposal Autopilot Kit on Gumroad. Both are optional.

The lessons contain no affiliate links. The Freelancer Proposal Autopilot Kit is WorkCue's own product. Systeme.io adds a "Powered by systeme.io" badge to pages on its free plan; that badge is a Systeme.io affiliate link, so WorkCue may earn a commission if you sign up for a paid Systeme.io plan through it.
